Dubai is a city in the United Arab Emirates known for luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture and a lively nightlife scene. It’s seen as a luxurious holiday destination. But Dubai can offer the perfect destination for couples as well as for families. It is a lot more than just the designer shops and nightlife. I thought this would be the perfect chance to tell you some of the other things you should experience when holidaying in Dubai.
Parks might not be the first thing you associate with Dubai. But the city boasts some of the most beautiful, tranquil, green parks anywhere. Some of the parks boast extensive woodlands and even a zoo so a great place for kids. Some of the other parks offer hills and breathtaking waterfalls. Offering terrain perfect for a gentle jog or run if that’s more your thing.
These places are so different from the usual hustle and bustle you will experience in Dubai. While offering a different insight into this amazing destination.
The marina itself hasn’t been around for many years, but it’s fast becoming an iconic feature of Dubai. It’s water’s edge is lined with skyscrapers, shops, and restaurants. The Atlantis Palm is here, with it’s golden arch being like a gateway to the Jumeirah Palm. A perfect place for a walk round. While you are there, perhaps have a meal on the dhow cruise which is a traditional wooden floating restaurant. Something a little different to experience.
Take in the sites
While you are in Dubai, you must take the opportunity to see some of the most well-known sites. For instance, the world’s only 7-star hotel is in Dubai. The Burj Al Arab is iconic alongside the city skyline of Dubai. It is one of the most photographed buildings, and the picture perfect spot is on the public beach next to it. Also visiting the Burj Khalifa, being the world’s tallest building. You could take a look at the exhibit on the buildings history, or take an extremely fast lift to the top. The views are out of this world.
While you are in this part of the world, you should look into a desert safari. Offering you the chance to experience something you may never get to again. There are many ways to experience this so do some research. You can have a 4×4 experience or a fast paced dune safari in a Land Rover. You could also opt for something a little more low-key and explore on a camel. Most companies will give you an experience including food. But make sure you check out the times and what’s included before booking.
However you decide to spend your time in this fabulous city I am positive you won’t be short of things to do. From the extensive malls glittered with shops, to even a ski centre. There are also many famous restaurants to satisfy even the most foodie among us. Dubai can tick all the boxes for the perfect holiday destination.
